I'm alive. This is the first time I have been back on here, probably since February... Long time!! Trying to stay warm and happy.

I should have some new stuff up soon. When I can actually find some more spare time to go through everything.

Hopefully I will find myself inspired to do more art also. Been kind of in a funk...
Reading has taken up my time, it keeps me sane(er).

Looking for a job sucks, and I figure I will let everyone know that; that happens to read my journal.

If anyone has some advise as to where to go to get assistance, that would be great also.

I have my BA in Illustration, and can not seem to find a job that fits with my degree in the least bit.

Here is my dilemma: I am not a graphic artist.

I love traditional art, getting messy while drawing, painting, molding ...etc

So I have come to an understanding that I can do clerical work pretty much, with my four year degree. Leaving my art at the door to become a background hobby. Gah, I hate to, but lets face it; unless I live in NYC or CA or a hot-spot am I really going to find an art job?

I have heard that people can mail their art and whatnot, but I don't even know where to search for the jobs. My cry for help. Yes, I am complaining to anyone that cares to listen to an optimistic, albeit deterred 23 year old.(If that is even possible).
Career builder and monster keep coming up with graphic designers or drafters positions, which I am not qualified for.


I don't know, just being hopeful in that this will help, since I am surrounded by fellow artists. How did you all get on your feet as an artist, or is your talent not your full-time occupation? I would love to hear from you, so I can pass this info onto others who also would like to know those hidden trade-secrets.
